Frequently Asked Questions

1.

What if I’m in a really bad place or experiencing a mental health emergency?

If you feel you’re in immediate danger or unable to keep yourself safe, please call 999 or go to your nearest A&E, such as Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital in Norwich or James Paget University Hospital in Great Yarmouth. If you need urgent mental health support but it isn’t an emergency, call NHS 111 and select the mental health option (option 2), or contact Samaritans on 116 123, free 24 hours a day. You don’t have to face things alone, and it’s always okay to ask for help when things feel too much.

2.

What happens during my first session?

Your first full session is an opportunity to begin talking about what has brought you to therapy and what you would like support with. I will take the time to listen and understand your circumstances, allowing your sessions to develop naturally from there.

3.

How long will I need therapy?

Everyone is different, so there is no set timeframe. I offer a relationship-focused approach, allowing therapy to develop around your individual needs and at a pace that feels right for you.

4.

What happens if I don’t feel Robyn is the right therapist for me?

That’s okay. The 15-minute discovery session is there for exactly that reason. Finding the right therapist is important, and the conversation gives you the opportunity to get a feel for me and my approach before making any commitment.

5.

What makes Innerbit Therapy Services different?

Innerbit focuses on understanding the whole person, not simply the problem they are experiencing. I bring over 25 years of experience, a person-centred approach and experience supporting adults, adolescents and families, with particular understanding of men’s mental health, life transitions and veterans.

6.

What can I talk to Robyn about?

You can talk about whatever feels important to you. I support people experiencing anxiety, stress, depression, emotional wellbeing difficulties, relationship and family challenges, life transitions, adolescent concerns and men’s mental health.

7.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

You don’t need to be certain before getting in touch. The free 15-minute discovery session gives you the opportunity to meet me, talk about what has brought you to therapy and get a feel for my approach before deciding whether you’d like to continue.
