A different Perspective.

A genuine Understanding

Meet
Robyn

A therapist who takes the time to understand you

Choosing someone to talk to can feel like a big decision. I believe that therapy starts with simply feeling comfortable enough to have an honest conversation.

With more than 25 years of experience working with people of different ages and backgrounds, I have supported people through difficult periods, changes in their lives, family challenges and times when things have felt difficult to make sense of.

My style is warm, down-to-earth and centred around you. There is no expectation to have everything figured out before you begin, and no pressure to know exactly what you want from therapy. I take the time to listen, understand your story and work with you at a pace that feels right, supporting you with the changes you want to make.

Whether you’re looking for support for yourself, your teenager or your family, my aim is simple: to provide a place where you can feel heard, understood and comfortable being yourself.

The Therapeutic Approach

Therapy built around you

There is no single way to experience therapy, and there is no expectation that you arrive with everything figured out. My person-centred approach means that sessions are shaped around you, your experiences and what you would like to explore.

Sometimes the issue becomes obvious quite quickly. But if knowing the answer was enough, you’d probably have found it already. Sometimes, having a space where you can be your authentic self and say what you’ve really been thinking is enough to help things shift.

Therapy also provides time to understand what may be happening beneath the surface and consider the experiences, relationships and circumstances that have shaped where you are today.

My systemic training also brings an understanding of how the people and relationships around us can influence how we think, feel and behave. Together, this creates an approach that looks beyond the immediate difficulty and considers the whole person.

The therapeutic relationship is central to my work. Building trust takes time, so sessions are approached with openness, respect and without judgement, allowing you to work at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

What To Expect

  • A relaxed conversation — Sessions are a chance to talk openly in a calm and welcoming environment.

  • No judgement — You can talk honestly about what you’re experiencing without feeling judged or criticised.

  • Time to talk things through — There’s no need to have everything figured out before you begin. Together, we can explore what’s been happening and what feels important to you.

  • Therapy shaped around you — Everyone is different, so sessions are guided by your individual experiences, needs and circumstances.

  • A pace that feels comfortable — There’s no need to rush. I will take time to build a relationship and help you feel comfortable.

  • Someone who listens — My role is not to tell you what to do, but to listen, understand and work alongside you.

  • A chance to understand the bigger picture — You can explore not just what is happening now, but the experiences, relationships and changes that may be connected to how you feel.

  • A genuine therapeutic relationship — Building trust is an important part of therapy, and I take the time to develop that relationship with you.

  • A space to reflect and move forward — Therapy can give you time to pause, make sense of things and consider what you might want for the future.
